The Morrígan is a goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish myth, and her name is often translated as "Great Queen" or "Phantom Queen." In Cath Maige Tuired (The Second Battle of Mag Tuired), she meets the Dagda at Samhain, promises her aid in the coming battle, and afterward proclaims the victory and speaks a prophecy of the world to come. In the Táin Bó Cúailnge, she appears to the hero Cú Chulainn in many forms, and she and her sisters are linked with crows and ravens over the battlefield.
