House of Cleo Devine is a private ritual house run by Cleo, a practitioner with more than twenty years of experience in Southern and Appalachian folk magic, candle magic, petition work, Psalm magic, ancestral practice, Qabalah, and Western ceremonial and Solomonic magic. We make ritual oils, teas, incense and conjure supplies by hand, and Cleo takes on a limited number of private workings for love, money, protection, justice and release.

Who Cleo Is

Cleo didn't start this as a business. More than twenty years ago, an experienced practitioner took her on as a student, and the teaching went on for years. From there she kept going on her own, through old texts, courses, private lessons, and a great deal of practice and trial.

Her work today leans on the traditions she knows best: Southern and Appalachian folk magic, candle and petition work, the Psalms, ancestor work, Qabalah, and Solomonic ceremonial magic. She studies more than she uses. A system doesn't make it into a client's working until she understands it well enough to use it responsibly.

What We Make, and How

Everything in the shop is blended in small batches in our own apothecary.

• Ritual oils use real essential oils, resins and botanicals, measured by the drop for skin-safe dilution.

• Solomonic oils (the Ars Goetia spirits, the angels, and the planetary oils) follow the old correspondences for each spirit and planet.

  • Each is blended on its proper planetary day and hour.

  • Each bottle holds a hand-drawn seal on parchment.

  • They contain no fragrance oils.

• Teas and loose herbs come from the same food-grade stock we use in our kitchen blends. All of our herbs are organic. Some are grown here on our farm.

• Conjure supplies (powders, salts, waters, washes, dirts and ritual rice) are made the traditional way. Where the old recipe calls for something unsafe or illegal to ship, we say so and use a safe substitute.

How Cleo Works

Candle magic sits at the center of most of her private work. A working may include a written petition, chosen herbs and oils, a Psalm or prayer, and timing based on the moon or the planetary hours. What goes into it depends on what you're asking for.

The petition puts your desire into words. The materials give it a body, and the ritual puts it into motion. Cleo doesn't add objects to make a working look impressive in a photograph. If three things will do the job, she uses three.

How a Private Working Happens

1. You tell us what's going on. Send a private inquiry with the situation, what you want, and anything that's already been tried. You don't need to know the name of the spell.

2. Cleo reads it and answers honestly. She'll tell you what work she can offer and why. Sometimes that means recommending something different from what you asked for. Sometimes it means telling you she's not the right fit. She tries to get back to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, excluding weekends.

3. The working is done with care. Written reports, photos, and more will be shared if included in the order.

4. You give it time. Cleo will tell you what to watch for and how long to wait before considering follow-up work.
